So while my 2yr old slept Thursday night I hardboiled a dozen eggs so they would be ready for him to dye and decorate the next day. I seperated the two cartons of eggs in the fridge. One was hardboiled and the other were raw and needed for our breakfast this weekend. I put the two in different locations and made a mental note of where I put each one.
The next day we excitedly put down a towel, get our dye ready and dived into dipping and decorating our eggs. At the very end of the experience my son dropped one on the chair. And to my surprise guess what...it was RAW!!!!
I guess the mental note I made got tossed away somewhere and I had gotten out the wrong carton for us to dye. So now not only do I have decorated eggs raw eggs, but my poor hardboiled ones were stark white and I had just tossed out the excess dye. So while I agree with my husband that it was better to have found out on Friday that they were raw, rather than when Brady was tossing them into his basket Sunday morning, I have to say I was one bummed mama.
I have a feeling this will be one moment/memory that my husband will not let me live down. I'm pretty sure every Easter from here on out he will check and double check with me that I grabbed the right eggs.
And so I spent my Saturday night while Brady was once again sleeping, re-dying eggs(the hubby was nice enough to go buy me some more dye) so that he wouldn't notice mommy's egg blunder! Live and Learn. And note to self---mark the egg boxes next year :-)
Happy Easter!

The beginning
This is my first blog entry.
I am a writer at heart but don't often get the chance to do so anymore now that my boys have come into my life. "Free" moments are far and few between. So besides the journal that I am privately keeping, and hoping to one day share with my boys, I've decided to try the 'blogging' thing.
As a mom I'm hoping to share some of the things I've experienced with motherhood (the good, the bad and the ugly)and hoping to hear from other people that may have been through the same things. Life as a stay-at-home mom isn't always easy and it feels good to know that I'm not the only one who struggles with juggling house work, screaming kids and still trying to maintain a sense of self through it all.
